Centre for Digital Heritage (CDH)

The Faculty of Archaeology is partner in the Collaborative International Research Centre for Digital Heritage. This project undertakes collaborative international research in the field of Digital Heritage and is an initiative of the University of York (UK). International research, knowledge exchange and contacts, with other partners Sweden (Uppsala) and Denmark (Aarhus), will improve the understanding and presentation of cultural heritage. Not only within archaeology but with a clear focus on interdisciplinary cross-fertilization too, for instance from our university the Faculty of Science participates as well. A number of topics are addressed with state of the art digital technologies, such as digital data curation, augmented reality, data mining and the use of digital media to reach the general public.

Other staff members and/or PhD candidates will be involved in the CDH-project if their research topics coincide with the future developments within this new international research center.
