Research schools

Many researchers in the Faculty of Archaeology are members of a research school related to their area of expertise. Research schools aim at collaboration of researchers from different faculties (interfaculty schools) and universities (interuniversity schools).

Even though the university Graduate Schools are primarily responsible for the training and supervision of PhD-students, interuniversity PhD courses are also offered by the research schools. These courses offer training in both methodology and area specific knowledge. Moreover, they provide PhD students with the opportunity to come into contact with fellow PhD students from other universities. According to an agreement between the faculties and the research schools, not only PhD students, but also Research Master's students can follow courses at the research schools. The agreement and the application procedure is specified in this letter.
