How to apply

Students with a Dutch educational background

If you have a Dutch bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or a relevant discipline, you can register via the online application programme.

Leiden Archaeology Bachelors who are applying for an Archaeology Master's degree do not need to submit their grade lists, diploma, references, or English test results when applying. The Faculty of Archaeology will do this for you.
You can use this standard letter (do not forget to supply your own name, student number and signature) when uploading your application.  

You can start a master's programme as of 1 September or 1 February.

Application deadlines:
15 June (programme starts in September)
1 December (programme starts in February)  


International students

International students and/or students with an international diploma can apply online via the online application programme

You can start a master's programme as of 1 September or 1 February.

Application deadlines:
1 April (programme starts in September): if visa/housing are needed
15 June (programme starts in September): if no visa/housing are needed

15 October (programme starts in February): if visa/housing are needed
1 December (programme starts in February): if no visa/housing are needed
